Scarlett Johansson has a confession — she has become a secret comic book fanatic! The actress says ever since she signed up to play the Black Widow in Iron Man 2, she cannot get enough of her super hero stories. And now her husband Ryan Reynolds is starring in The Green Lantern, Scarlett has another excuse to continue buying them. “I have quite a few stacks of comic books,” she said. “We’re in completely different universes over there but its kind of something that I’m certainly delving into for the first time. There is quite a stack. “Certainly there is a major geek within me. Actually, just kind of right on the surface I don’t really keep it well hidden.” Johansson, 24, recently revealed how she prepared for her role in Iron Man 2, in which she has to don a skintight catsuit. “It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit,” she said.
Scarlett Johansson is being lined up to play Marilyn Monroe. The 24-year-old blonde beauty is reportedly at the top of a list of actresses being considered by director Simon Curtis and producer David Parfitt for new film My Week With Marilyn. Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams have also been mentioned as possible stars of the film, according to newspaper columnist Baz Bamigboye. The movie will be based on the diary of Colin Clark, an employee of Laurence Olivier, who looked after the blonde bombshell when she came to London to film Olivier’s The Prince and the Showgirl in 1957. In the diary, Clark talks about showing Marilyn around Queen Elizabeth’s private apartments at Windsor Castle and other “behind-the-scenes” trips. Clark published excerpts of his diary in 1958, but left the details of one week out. These chapters weren’t released until he died in 2002, and will form the basis of the movie. Parfitt explained: “Once everyone else was dead, Clark had arranged for the missing week to be issued.” British film writer Adrian Hodges has adapted the papers into a script.
A friend of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds has claimed that recent rumours of fights between the couple are fabricated. The rumours began when Reynolds failed to turn up to promote new film adaptation of The Green Lantern at the San Diego Comic-Con event, despite his wife attending. Reynolds’s representative told People: “[It] is completely untrue. Warner Brothers never planned to have Green Lantern as part of their panel at this year’s Comic-Con and Ryan is in Europe shooting a film.” A friend of the couple added: “Any reports of a fight are ridiculous.” Johansson and Reynolds married in Canada last year and are rumoured to be thinking of adopting a child.

A source said: “Scarlett has sworn to her shining knight she’ll kick nicotine to prove she’s the world’s happiest wife. Now she’s researching hypnosis therapy.” While Scarlett has agreed to kick her bad habit for her spouse, he has not been so forthcoming in agreeing to her requests. Earlier this year, it was claimed Scarlett wanted Ryan to stop riding his motorbike after he was almost involved in an accident. A source said at the time: “She’s petrified a serious accident is just around the corner. When she asked Ryan to give up motorcycling, he flat out refused. And that led to a pretty heavy argument.”

The Lost in Translation actress went from blond to redhead to get the role of the Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and to impress director Jon Favreau. “When I met Jon Favreau the second time I had red hair,” explains Scarlett. “Part of that was me wanting to experiment with my hair color and the other part of that was me kind of hoping that Jon would like the fact that I had experimented and that would help me get the role.” Johansson, 24, recently revealed how she prepared herself for her role as the Black Widow. “I kicked some major butt,” she told People magazine. “It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit. “You put that much work into something and you put it on and you better be happy with it. “It was crazy to see [the catsuit] for the first time – everything all zipped up and all the weapons in there, bracelets on, the whole look. It was pretty sweet, I have to say,” she explains.
