Scarlett Johansson-Inspired Fragrance

French fashion and fragrance house Cacharel is launching a new fragrance called Scarlett in mid-July. The scent, geared towards young women between 15 and 25, was named after Scarlett Johansson and the unforgettable heroine of Gone With The Wind. The motto for the new perfume is “romantic, fresh, and daring” and the notes include jasmine, orange blossom, honeysuckle, citruses, tea leaves, pear, white musks and sandalwood. In the past, Cacharel has used Laetitia Casta (Promese), Kate Moss (Anais Anais), and Gisele Bundchen (Liberte) in fragrance ad campaigns. Alas, we won’t see Miss Johansson playing mannequin this time ’round. With an image of the Scarlett advertisements leaking around cyberspace, it looks like they went with a pretty young model instead. Thanks to LimeLife for this info!

A source said: “Gwyneth has become very frustrated with Scarlett. They come from different worlds and have completely different styles. Gwyneth has found Scarlett very demanding for the attention of the crew. It’s not a happy set. Gwyneth and Scarlett have never been particularly close. Gwyneth was looking forward to working with Emily Blunt, who was originally in line for the part, but it ended up being Scarlett. Gwyneth’s had to live with that and she has been very professional, but she and Scarlett haven’t developed a friendship on the shoot, which is almost at the half way point. In fact, it’s quite the opposite,” the source added. Gwyneth is also said to be upset producers decided to cast 24-year-old Scarlett in the part of sexy former spy Natasha Romanoff.

Fox: ‘I don’t want to be like Johansson’

Megan Fox has admitted that she is bothered by sexy actresses who have to overcompensate for their good looks by using a big vocabulary. The 22-year-old said that she “resents” the expectations placed on her and does not want to follow the example of Scarlett Johansson, according to People. She said: “I don’t want to have to be like a Scarlett Johansson – who I have nothing against. But I don’t want to have to go on talkshows and pull out every single SAT word I’ve every learned to prove, like, ‘Take me seriously, I am intelligent, I can speak’.” Fox added: “I don’t want to have to do that. I resent having to prove that I’m not a retard – but I do. And part of it is my own fault.”

Scarlett Johansson Silences Crew

As the Iron Man 2 cast and crew put in long hours getting the blockbuster sequel shot, director Jon Favreau shared to his Twitter readers what happened on Wednesday (May 06) when sultry Scarlett Johansson stepped on to the set for the first time in costume for her character Black Widow. “Scarlett’s first day on set in the Black Widow outfit,” Favreau wrote. “You’ve never heard a crew get so quiet so fast.” Johansson took on the role after Emily Blunt dropped out due to a scheduling conflict. Fans of the franchise were up in arms at the casting change citing that Johansson did not physically resemble the character. But after a quick dye job on Johansson’s part, it looks like she’s ready to smoothly slip into character as a Russian spy. Thanks to Radar.com for this news!

Producer Defends Johansson’s Directorial Effort

Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut has not been “dashed” contrary to reports. The producer of the upcoming film New York, I Love You refutes rumors that her segment was deemed “unwatchable.” New York Post reported that the 24-year-old actress’ first directorial effort in a segment for the film has been cut because it was “really bad.” Her segment starred Kevin Bacon in black and white shots. However, producer Emmanual Bengihy denies the reports, saying that Johansson’s segment was left out in the theatrical cut because of creative differences. He stated, “Scarlett presented me with an extremely compelling, albeit unconventional, narrative that appeared as though it would not necessarily conform to the overall approach of the entire collective.” “However, I was very much moved by her vision and I did not want to pass on the opportunity to help her develop it. All that matters to me is the genuine movie language of the author.” He added that he agreed with the actress that a “final determination of its appropriateness in the context of the other contributions and the overall story would be best in the editorial process. And after months of editing, I had to admit that there were editorial decisions to be made in the interest of serving the overall narrative and composition that resulted in previously filmed scenes and footage not getting used.” Johannson’s efforts are not totally wasted. Her directorial debut will be featured in the DVD version of the film.
