Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds may be planning to adopt. The 32-year-old Proposal actor – who married 24-year-old Scarlett in a very private ceremony in Canada last year – has told British Glamour magazine he would love to adopt a child. Ryan said: “My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time; I’m very grateful for having my brother in my life – I couldn’t be more pro-adoption.” He added: “There are plenty of kids in the world that need it.” But asked if she and Ryan would be starting a family Scarlett told the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I’m not pregnant nor will I be any time soon.”
Samuel L. Jackson has admitted that he invested in a beehive for Scarlett Johansson after she let him known of the insect’s declining population. The actor, who worked with Johansson on movie The Spirit, told the Late Show with David Letterman that he bought the box of bees for her wedding to Ryan Reynolds. “Scarlett was always talking about how the bees were dying and the planet was going to die. I was telling her that people keep saying the bees are dying because they want to charge us more for fruit and vegetables,” he explained. “So she kept complaining about the bees, we had the same dressing room. ‘Sam, the bees are dying, we need to do something’, so I said, ‘Ok, what I’m going to do is buy you a beehive as your weeding gift’. “And she thought I was kidding. So once they got married, and when the weather was right, I sent my sister out to a bee farm, we got about five pounds of bees. We got them some bee suits and hats as well.”
InStyle magazine recently sat down with Scarlett and husband, Ryan Reynolds, and asked them what they would change about themselves if they could. Johansson replied, “I’d like to be taller. I’m 5-foot-4 on a good day, and a couple extra inches would be nice.” Meanwhile, Ryan replied, “I know this sounds weird, but I wish I were an inch shorter. [He’s 6-foot-2.]” The catch here? The couple was interviewed separately. Thanks to Celebrity Gossip for this find!
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds refuse to discuss their careers with one another. The couple – who married in a secret ceremony last September – insist the key to making their relationship work is by banning chats about movie making. Ryan said: “We don’t have a lot of work talk around the house. We both prefer to just be ourselves at home. There’s no competition between us – we just don’t talk about it.”
Scarlett Johansson is set to star in a remake of The Bride of Frankenstein. The 24-year-old blonde bombshell is tipped to portray a sexier version of the terrifying female monster in an updated version of the original 1935 horror movie. A source said: “The Bride of Frankenstein will be young this time. They’re looking for a person with great power and sex appeal. Someone along the lines of Scarlett Johansson or Anne Hathaway.” The wild-haired bride was originally played by English actress Elsa Lanchester. The film follows on from Frankenstein – which sees Dr. Frankenstein bring a “human” to life from separate body parts – and sees the doctor create a partner for the monster. However, when Dr. Frankenstein brings the bride to life, she rejects the monster. Neil Burger – who previously worked on The Illusionist – is set to director the movie and pen the script. Guillermo del Toro recently revealed he is planning to begin work on a new version of Frankenstein, based on Mary Shelley’s novel.
