Scarlett Johansson loves to cook — because it makes her feel normal! The Hollywood star — who is married to actor Ryan Reynolds — says she likes spending time in the kitchen to unwind after a hard day making movies. “After a long day at work, I really like to cook,” the 24-year-old told Britain’s OK! magazine in a new interview. “I actually find cooking dinner a really nice routine, especially after working, it makes me feel normal again. “There is something nice about the routine. Often when you’re working, you’re traveling around a lot and you feel kind of disconnected — so I find having a routine like coming home and cooking dinner every day sort of makes me feel more at home.”
Scarlett Johansson didn’t intend to become a role a model. The Iron Man 2 actress — who is married to hunky actor Ryan Reynolds – says she doesn’t consider herself an icon. “I always thought you reached icon status after you left this world,” she said. “I never signed up to be a role model as such. “Of course, ever since I was a little girl I had an idea of what I wanted to do — which was to pursue my dream of being a successful actor. “If that makes me a role model for people to look up to, then I suppose I am flattered by it. “I suppose it shows that if you work hard at something you really can succeed — so it’s important to keep your head straight and focus on your goal.”
Scarlett Johansson has been chowing down egg whites in a bid to get into shape. The Iron Man 2 beauty says her diet of egg-white omelets and lean turkey, paired with a punishing exercise regime has meant she is stronger, fitter and fabber than ever before — and she’s loving it! “I had to change my diet — when you are working out like that you have to feed your new body so you eat in a different way. It’s very clean,” she said. “I feel much stronger than I’ve ever felt just because I’ve had to build so much strength. “I had no choice, I had to do it — I mean you want to do these stunts and you have to be strong in order to do them.”
Scarlett Johansson got to throw a punch in new movie Iron Man 2 — and she loved it! The movie beauty — who plays the role of the Black Widow in the eagerly-awaited flick — hates playing weak female parts and reveled in the chance to be the tough girl for once. “Well obviously I don’t do damsel in distress very well,” she says. “The essence of this character is that she throws a punch like it’s going to go through you. For me that was an exciting challenge. I’d never done anything like that before — especially this physical aspect of the stunt work and all that. “I’d never been able to challenge myself in that way so that was exciting. Something new. And it used up aggression too.”
Scarlett Johansson has a confession — she has become a secret comic book fanatic! The actress says ever since she signed up to play the Black Widow in Iron Man 2, she cannot get enough of her super hero stories. And now her husband Ryan Reynolds is starring in The Green Lantern, Scarlett has another excuse to continue buying them. “I have quite a few stacks of comic books,” she said. “We’re in completely different universes over there but its kind of something that I’m certainly delving into for the first time. There is quite a stack. “Certainly there is a major geek within me. Actually, just kind of right on the surface I don’t really keep it well hidden.” Johansson, 24, recently revealed how she prepared for her role in Iron Man 2, in which she has to don a skintight catsuit. “It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training, but it’s fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit,” she said.
Scarlett Johansson is being lined up to play Marilyn Monroe. The 24-year-old blonde beauty is reportedly at the top of a list of actresses being considered by director Simon Curtis and producer David Parfitt for new film My Week With Marilyn. Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams have also been mentioned as possible stars of the film, according to newspaper columnist Baz Bamigboye. The movie will be based on the diary of Colin Clark, an employee of Laurence Olivier, who looked after the blonde bombshell when she came to London to film Olivier’s The Prince and the Showgirl in 1957. In the diary, Clark talks about showing Marilyn around Queen Elizabeth’s private apartments at Windsor Castle and other “behind-the-scenes” trips. Clark published excerpts of his diary in 1958, but left the details of one week out. These chapters weren’t released until he died in 2002, and will form the basis of the movie. Parfitt explained: “Once everyone else was dead, Clark had arranged for the missing week to be issued.” British film writer Adrian Hodges has adapted the papers into a script.
