Scarlett Johansson-Inspired Fragrance

French fashion and fragrance house Cacharel is launching a new fragrance called Scarlett in mid-July. The scent, geared towards young women between 15 and 25, was named after Scarlett Johansson and the unforgettable heroine of Gone With The Wind. The motto for the new perfume is “romantic, fresh, and daring” and the notes include jasmine, orange blossom, honeysuckle, citruses, tea leaves, pear, white musks and sandalwood. In the past, Cacharel has used Laetitia Casta (Promese), Kate Moss (Anais Anais), and Gisele Bundchen (Liberte) in fragrance ad campaigns. Alas, we won’t see Miss Johansson playing mannequin this time ’round. With an image of the Scarlett advertisements leaking around cyberspace, it looks like they went with a pretty young model instead. Thanks to LimeLife for this info!

Scarlett Talks Weight Issues

Scarlett Johansson has taken to the Huffington Post to voice her opinion about issues that many women struggle with — weight, eating disorders and treatment options. The 24-year-old married actress writes about exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Here’s a snippet: “People come in all shapes and sizes and everyone has the capability to meet their maximum potential. Once filming is completed, I’ll no longer need to rehash the 50 ways to lift a dumbbell, but I’ll commit to working out at least 30 minutes a day and eating a balanced diet of fruit, vegetables and lean proteins. Pull ups, crunches, lunges, squats, jumping jacks, planks, walking, jogging and push ups are all exercises that can be performed without fancy trainers or gym memberships. I’ve realized through this process that no matter how busy my life may be, I feel better when I take a little time to focus on staying active. We can all pledge to have healthy bodies no matter how diverse our lifestyles may be.” Check out Scarlett’s full take on weight issues here. Thanks to JustJared!

Reynolds wants his private life kept private

Is it splitsville for Ryan Reynolds and his low-key life? Not if the 32-year-old Canadian can help it, despite the searing spotlight that comes with being married to bombshell Scarlett Johansson. “There’s this weird polarization,” says Reynolds who avoids divulging details of his personal life to journalists. “Part of me shuns the spotlight and is scared of it. And then there’s another part of me that kind of yearns for it, but tries to control it. So that can be a bit of a conundrum, especially when nowadays you have paparazzi stealing garbage out of your house. It’s a whole other world.” Reynolds, who hails from Vancouver, and Johansson, 24, wed in a remote British Columbia retreat in September after announcing their engagement last May. It’s the first marriage for both, although they’ve been in highly-publicized relationships before — including Reynolds’s four-year romance with singer Alanis Morissette; they split up in 2007. “You have to be careful about it,” he says. “I’m reticent to explain too much about my personal life, not because I’m being secretive, but a) because I’m trying to keep it private and there’s a difference, and b) because we know so much about people who are in films now … too much. It’s supply and demand. People want to know so they’ll find out, but I don’t want to know Ben Stiller’s religion or anything. I don’t care. I just want to watch him in a movie.”

Scarlett, frankly

Scarlett Johansson, star of the upcoming film He’s Just Not That Into You, is happy to reveal what she loves about Canadians and what makes a great relationship. Just don’t push her for details of her own.
Scarlett Johansson has traded in her signature blond locks for a more subtle shade of brown. Did she make the change for a movie role? Or is the privacy-minded, 24-year-old actress and newlywed (she married Canada’s Ryan Reynolds in the fall) attempting to go unnoticed? “It’s part of being a girl,” Johansson says with a shrug. “We get to change up our thing and confuse everybody.” She certainly befuddles a couple of men in the new ensemble film He’s Just Not That Into You. And she has been doing an excellent job of keeping paparazzi and nosy tabloid reporters off her trail since marrying Reynolds, 32, at a remote spot on Vancouver Island in September. No photos or details of the wedding at the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort near Tofino have made the media – a marvel of covert planning on Johansson’s part in this intrusive age. “I’m such a private person in that sense,” she says unapologetically. “I’m never going to answer any wedding questions.” She will, however, gush about everything else the West Coast has to offer. Sister Act
Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman?cast as rivalrous siblings in The Other Boleyn Girl?have seemingly nothing in common. But as it turns out, the utterly uninhibited bombshell and the self-possessed pixie are more like sisters than you’d think.

It’s not easy to find a man whose celebrity crush list includes both Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. Both actresses are gorgeous, sure, but in such different ways that they seem almost of separate species. The 23-year-old Johansson is a modern Marilyn Monroe, complete with platinum mane, fleshy curves and a sexy-throaty voice. The 26-year-old Portman, in contrast, is the very embodiment of delicacy and refinement: small, perfectly shaped features, boyish body and careful Ivy League diction. Read the rest of this entry →

Newsweek Interview

Did you have a nanny growing up?
I came from a moderate home, so we never had one. I actually never knew anyone with a nanny.

Where did you live?
Greenwich Village. So I was oblivious to that whole Upper East Side lifestyle.

You’ll never guess where I’m going tonight.
Well, now that you say it like that, I’m trying to guess.

Too late. The Justin Timberlake concert.
You’re going to have a fabulous time. I’ve actually never seen a complete show of his.

Want to come? I have an extra ticket.
Well, I’m in Barcelona.

Filming the new Woody Allen movie?
Yes. I’d do his craft service if he wanted me to.

Can’t you hop on a plane?
I have work pretty early in the morning. I don’t know how Woody would feel if I came to work two days later, singing those songs at the top of my lungs.

Is it true that you’re playing porn star Jenna Jameson in a biopic?
This is the second time I’ve heard of it. It’s a little out there. I don’t think that’s for me.

But you have played very sexual characters before.
I’m a confident young woman. I think along with that comes sexual confidence. But I don’t think that means I’m terribly frisky. I don’t objectify myself. But I like to celebrate my curves and girliness.

Apparently Jenna asked for you.
That’s nice. I guess.
