‘Iron Man 2′ Blu-ray Pre-Orders Begin

Online retailer Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2 on Blu-ray starring Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow.
In a move becoming quite familiar at Amazon, the initial pre-order price is not that far from the suggested retail price. If you lock in an Iron Man 2 pre-order now then you could potentially be plucking down $35.99 when it ships just shy of September 28, a mere 10% off the $39.99 list price. Amazon will likely drop it to the $27 range between now and then so anyone pre-ordering would be covered on the price drop regardless of when it was pre-ordered.

Scarlett’s iPod is up for auction on March 16, 2009 at 10am until March 26, 2009 at 10am. Johansson to host Nobel concert

Actress Scarlett Johansson will co-host the 2008 Nobel Peace Concert on December 11 in honor of this year’s laureate, Finnish peace mediator and former President Martti Ahtisaari. The other co-host will be announced in coming weeks, said a statement given to The Associated Press ahead of its official release. Last year’s show was hosted by Uma Thurman and Kevin Spacey. “We’re extremely pleased Ms. Johansson will join us for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert,” said the Norwegian Nobel Committee’s non-voting secretary Geir Lundestad. “Her compassion and influence will help us tremendously in our mission of spreading the global message of peace.” Lundestad says the concert, televised in up to 100 countries, is the most popular event on the Nobel calendar. Johansson, 23, will host a program headlined by Diana Ross. It includes Canadian singer Leslie Feist, who performs under the name Feist, American country singer Dierks Bentley, Mexican singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas, and Nigerian star Seun Kuti, according to a list released last week. Johansson rose to stardom through her role in the 1998 film The Horse Whisperer and won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts best actress award for her role opposite Bill Murray in the 2003 film Lost in Translation. The Nobel concert is held a day after the December 10 Nobel peace awards ceremony. Ahtisaari won the prize for his peace efforts on several continents over several decades.
