This fall, Yorn and actress/singer Scarlett Johansson will release their collaborative album, Break Up. Inspired by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot’s duet recordings, the 9-track duet album was actually recorded in 2006 but Yorn only recently decided to release it after playing the album for a few friends. The work predates Johansson’s 2008 debut album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, which was comprised of ten Tom Waits covers along with one original tune. Break Up is comprised of eight Yorn originals plus a cover of Big Star’s I Am The Cosmos. The lead single, Relator, is now streaming on the album’s website.
