A film insider said: “The buzzwords about the film are tasteful and non-sensational. Michael thinks Scarlett would be the perfect choice to play Diana as she is a very versatile actress.”
Rumors are circulating that Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have become engaged, despite a representative for the couple denying that the story has any truth to it. According to reports, the couple have been dating for almost a year following Reynolds’ high profile breakup from singer Alanis Morrissette. Ben Widdicombe, who writes the Gatecrasher gossip column for New York Daily News, claims that “a very good source tells me we can soon expect an engagement announcement”. The columnist also states that he’s been informed of the denial by reps for the couple. Despite this, the rumor has spread online, appearing on all major celebrity gossip websites.
Scarlett Johansson is set to add some Hollywood glamour to this year’s Brit awards, reports have claimed. The A-lister actress is being lined up by organisers to at least present an award, but bosses are also hopeful of convincing the 23-year-old to perform herself. Although best known for her star turns in Lost in Translation and The Black Dahlia, Johansson is currently recording an album of Tom Waits covers with Rhino Records. “Scarlett has tentatively agreed to sing and is definitely presenting a Brit,” a source told the Sunday Mirror. “It would be a real treat.” Commentators have already noted the excess of female talent being celebrated at this year’s Brits, with Kate Nash, KT Tunstall, Leona Lewis and Bat for Lashes in the running for best British female artist. And Kylie Minogue, Rihanna and Alicia Keys head a competitive field for the best international female singer award. Although they are not nominated in any categories, both Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse are set to perform in the February 20th ceremony.
After Zooey Deschanel teaming up with M.Ward comes the news that Scarlett Johansson’s Tom Waits-inspired foray into the music world is no lie, recorded and ready. Johansson is set to release her album, entitled Anywhere I Lay My Head, on May 20th. Back in 2006 the actress revealed that she would try her hand at singing by recording a Tom Waits covers album. It seems that not everything that the Hollywood set talks about is BS, because the title of her album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, is also a Tom Waits song title from his 1985 album Rain Dogs.

This USO tour to the Gulf region truly means a lot, Johansson said in a statement. I’ve wanted to go over and visit for some time, and now my moment has arrived. It’s one thing to reply to a letter or extend your thanks to service members in a speech, but it’s another thing to visit them and spend time with those that do so much for us back home.

It will be explosive.”
